Economical Multipurpose Flat & Convex Type Armor Block

STONE-BLOCK

STONE-BLOCK is a flat type block widely used as an armor block such as foot/bottom protections and revetments, seawalls and artificial reefs on coasts and breakwater mound armoring. To achieve a simple and low cost method, STONE-BLOCK was developed as an alternative to large armor stones. It is a very reliable block and has a history of more than 40 years.

✔It's economical because the armoring area per block is large and the number of used block relative to the construction area is small.
✔The stability is excellent because there is convexo-concave on the right and left sides of the block, and blocks can be arranged so as to interlock each other.
✔There are two types; "Convex-type" having protrusions on the crown of the block and "Flat-type" which is flat. The optimum type can be selected according to the site conditions.
✔There is also "Shoulder-type" for the purpose of protecting shoulder part of revetment, breakwater mound armoring, etc., and it is possible to enhance the stability of the entire structure.

Approx. 800 pcs of STONE-BLOCK protects the Pier and foot part of Revetment as scouring prevention structure. The Comoro River has almost no water for about half a year, but it is a rapid river in which its bed slope is 1/30 to 1/70. Since the local scouring when floods caused by heavy rains have happened is concerned, foot/bottom protections were constructed to protect 5 piers and revetments.
